The Commission Process

 

I thought it best to outline the process I follow below and see if you’d like to go ahead before I commit pen to paper.

​

Step 1 - You have an idea, maybe just a few words or an image, maybe you liked a piece of my writing or poetry or another of my pieces of art but would like some tweaks so that it's just right for you?

 

Step 2 - I tend to send across a sketch of my initial thought/impression based upon what you’ve said and if this works for you, and provide you a estimate of the cost.

 

Step 3 - I’ll work on the piece and send it to you via email at a couple of points in its progress so we can make tweaks in emphasis and colour as we go along.

 

Step 4 - Completion, final approval, printing and posting out.

Cost

 

For a one off commission I tend to charge between £65 and £125 for a signed dated and personalised piece of art. The cost is dependent upon the amount of time required to complete the work, the level of specific detail and the amount of work involved to flesh out the idea; before starting the piece itself.

 

I will provide a quote after the first set of ideas I send across based upon time and difficulty.

 

Size

 

The finished piece generally comes at approx. 9” x 11” (Roughly A4 size) and I can have larger sizes printed if you’d like.

 

Framing

 

I can frame your piece in a grey, black or oak style frame as shown in my pictures on the website and it’s an extra £12 for a frame or you can arrange for your picture to be framed yourself via a framer local to you.

Commission Pay it Forward Scheme 

​

I believe that your commission should feel like an active collaboration and so if 6 other people choose to purchase a copy of your print, I will send you a print, of your choice, from my little boat range. So once you have your print - take a photo and get sharing.
